The Multidisciplinary Intensive Care Unit of Cosmoclinic is one of the most modern and well-equipped departments of our clinic, designed to fully respond to the increased requirements of hospitalizing critically ill patients. With the aim of providing the maximum possible medical care, the ICU combines technological excellence with high scientific expertise.
The Unit features 12 intensive care beds, one of which is located in a fully isolated chamber (isolation box) for the safe hospitalization of septic or infectious cases.
Each nursing bed is equipped with:
Latest generation autonomous ventilator, for support or full assumption of respiratory function.
Multiparametric monitoring system, for continuous recording and monitoring of vital parameters such as heart rate, respiration, pressure, oxygen saturation, temperature, and hemodynamic indices.
Central oxygen therapy and suction system.
The Unit is fully supplied with the necessary cutting-edge technical equipment, allowing for the immediate performance of diagnostic and interventional acts. All procedures are carried out without delays and without moving the patient, a fact that enhances safety and quality of care.
The operation of the ICU is based on the scientific competence and experience of its staff, as it is staffed by:
Specialized Intensive Care physicians.
Scientific associates of various specialties, such as internists, cardiologists, pulmonologists, and surgeons who contribute to the holistic management of patients.
Experienced nursing staff, with high training in providing intensive care.
Physical therapists, dietitians, and other health professionals, who fully cover the multi-level needs of hospitalized patients.
The Intensive Care Unit operates on a 24-hour basis, offering immediate access to a wide range of interventions:
Intubation and application of mechanical ventilation (invasive and non-invasive)
Catheterization of central veins and arteries
Placement of temporary cardiac pacemaker
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Pleural cavity drainage
Percutaneous tracheostomy
Therapeutic and diagnostic bronchoscopy
Continuous hemofiltration / renal replacement therapy
Electrocardiogram and monitoring of vital parameters
Blood gas analysis and hemodynamic monitoring with specialized equipment
The ICU treats:
Critically ill patients in need of mechanical support of vital functions
High-risk postoperative patients
Patients with respiratory failure, cardiac problems, or acute cerebrovascular accidents
Patients with renal failure, requiring continuous support or hemofiltration
Furthermore, the Unit covers cases of patients who:
Have undergone surgeries with an increased risk of complications
Require regular respiratory support and intensive physical therapy
Are in a stable but precarious condition (e.g., with tracheostomy)
Are assessed as unsafe to be hospitalized in simple wards due to an increased risk of deterioration
The Intensive Care Unit of Cosmoclinic is a cornerstone of our commitment to providing quality, compassionate, and immediate care, even in the most critical situations. With a combination of expertise and professionalism, we stand by the patient and their family with responsibility and sensitivity.
