Corporate Social Responsibility

Cosmoclinic recognizes its primary responsibility towards the society and the environment in which operates. Our commitment to sustainable development and social contribution is an integral part of our philosophy and operations. We invest in initiatives that promote health, wellbeing, and social cohesion, actively supporting vulnerable groups and raising public awareness on critical public health and environmental issues.

Public Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine Initiatives in the Municipality of Piraeus

Cosmoclinic implemented a major two-year project aimed at promoting the public health of the residents of the Municipality of Piraeus, specifically targeting children, the elderly, and vulnerable groups. The project was pioneering, as it provided thousands of children and adults with free access to primary healthcare services. In collaboration with the Directorate of Public Health and Social Services of the Municipality of Piraeus, we implemented 8 different initiatives, all provided completely free of charge for the citizens:

  • Preventive Health Screenings for School Students

  • Preventive Health Screenings for Individuals Over 65

  • First Aid Educational Seminars

  • Informational Workshops on Nutrition, Exercise, and Prevention for School Students

  • Informational Workshops on Nutrition, Exercise, and Prevention for Citizens

  • Prevention Counseling for High-Risk Groups

  • Psychosocial Support and Counseling for Individuals Facing Social Exclusion

  • Epidemiological Research on Vulnerable and Special Population Groups

The program solidified the trust of Piraeus residents in both Cosmoclinic and the Municipality of Piraeus, proving that public-private partnerships can deliver substantial results for the benefit of society.

The benefits were multiple and extensive:

  • Prevention and Early Diagnosis: Free preventive health screenings contribute to the early diagnosis of diseases, which is critical for their successful treatment.

  • Reduction in Morbidity: With early diagnosis, many diseases can be managed before they worsen, thereby reducing the need for more complex and costly treatments in the future.

  • Reduction of Inequalities: Free access to medical exams helps economically vulnerable groups undergo health check-ups without financial burden, which can promote the reduction of inequality.

  • Awareness and Education: Educational workshops for students on proper nutrition and exercise raise awareness among children and help reduce future childhood obesity. Informational workshops for the elderly contribute to maintaining their health and implementing best practices for extending life expectancy.

  • Improvement of Public Health: If more people undergo regular check-ups and receive proper information, then public health trends and issues can be identified early and measures can be taken to address them.

  • Reduction of Pressure on Hospitals: By achieving disease prevention at a primary level, the need for hospitalization is reduced.

  • Integration of Socially Excluded Individuals: Free psychosocial support sessions contribute to the integration into society and the workforce of those facing social exclusion issues.

  • Social Cohesion and Solidarity: Free healthcare services offered by municipalities and communities in collaboration with private or public sector strengthen the sense of social cohesion and solidarity, showing that the state truly cares about the well-being of all citizens.

For this project, Cosmoclinic was honored with the Bronze award at the Healthcare Business Awards, in the category of Prevention / Early Diagnosis Initiatives.

 Member of the “Boroume” Network

The collaboration between Cosmoclinic and the non-profit organization “Boroume” (meaning We Can) is part of our initiatives to support vulnerable social groups. Through this initiative, we ensure that surplus food is provided to the homeless and to fellow citizens facing food insecurity. Through this action, we actively contribute to the reduction of food waste and to meeting the basic needs of individuals experiencing social exclusion.

Environmental Protection

Environmental protection is a steady priority for Cosmoclinic. With a sense of responsibility toward future generations, we implement comprehensive environmental management practices, certified according to the international ISO 14001:2015 standard. Our goal is to minimize our environmental footprint and ensure the sustainable operation of the Clinic.

We strictly adhere to segregation and management systems for medical and other waste, in accordance with our Internal Waste Management Regulations, while simultaneously implementing recycling programs for lamps, batteries, electrical and electronic equipment, ink, paper, glass e.t.c. Through targeted actions and continuous improvement of our processes, we contribute to maintaining a healthy environment for the society in which we operate.

Voluntary Blood Donation

As part of our social contribution, we regularly organize voluntary blood donations with the participation of our staff, in collaboration with the Nikaia General Hospital. Through these initiatives, we strengthen blood supplies for patients in need and foster a culture of solidarity and selfless giving.
