The services offered cover a wide range of diagnostic needs, such as:
Upper and lower abdominal ultrasound (liver, biliary tract, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, bladder, internal genital organs)
Thyroid, neck, and salivary gland ultrasound (assessment of morphology, nodules, lymph nodes)
Scrotal, testicular, and prostate ultrasound (assessment of male urogenital diseases)
Soft tissue ultrasound (tumors, inflammations, abscesses, cysts, injuries)
Breast Ultrasound (supplementary check-up in combination with mammography)
Interventional Procedures under Ultrasound Guidance
Interventional procedures are also performed, such as FNA of the thyroid or parotids, as well as punctures of the liver and intra-abdominal collections. These procedures are carried out by a specialized radiologist under local anesthesia and do not require hospitalization. Upper Abdominal Ultrasound
You must fast for at least 8 hours before the examination.
Only drinking water is permitted.
The day before the examination, avoid consuming legumes, vegetables, fruits, dairy, and carbonated drinks.
Foods such as bread, meat, fish, rice, and pasta are permitted.
Lower Abdominal Ultrasound
1 hour before the examination, start drinking water (4-6 glasses) without urinating.
It is necessary to feel a strong urge to urinate at the time of the examination.
In case of insufficient preparation, the examination cannot be performed.
The Ultrasound Department has a contract with E.O.P.Y.Y., offering the possibility to perform an ultrasound using an E.O.P.Y.Y. referral.
