Perimenopause Check-up

Perimenopause is the natural transitional stage leading up to menopause, characterised by gradual changes in ovarian function and hormone levels. During this time, women may experience changes in the frequency and duration of their menstrual cycle, hot flushes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, mood changes and other symptoms.

The Perimenopause Check-up includes selected hormone tests that help assess hormonal function and investigate other factors that may be associated with menstrual cycle changes or similar symptoms. Results should be evaluated in conjunction with each woman’s age, medical history and clinical presentation.

The Perimenopause Check-up includes the following tests:

• Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH)

• Luteinising Hormone (LH)

• Oestradiol (E2)

• Prolactin (PRL)

• Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH)

Optional test: Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH), which is used as a marker of ovarian reserve.
